Where can I find records of former professors at Oxford University? I'm trying to find any info about..?

The professor's name was Mr. Hawker (I think the spelling is right). He taught at the university (not sure which college) in the 1940s and had adopted a son with his wife. He was my grandfather's professor, and I am hoping through Mr. Hawker's info, I can find more info about my grandfather.
