Question:

Where can I find save the date magnets with a railroad track?

We are getting married at the train depot. I was looking for some cute save the date magnets but cant find any with this theme. I thought maybe a couple walking on train tracks with an umbrella so you cant see their faces. Maybe something with an old train would work. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could find something like this?

  1. We made my daughter's save-the-date magnets.  Buy some blank sheets of laser business cards (Avery makes them, as do others, and all the office supply stores carry them).  You can always find them in white and ivory.  Other colors are available although you might need to order them.

Magnets that have glue on one side and fit a business card are also available at the office supply stores.

Then you use Microsoft Publisher, or Word, or whatever creative software you have, to create the announcement.  You can find clip art of a railroad track that you can insert.

Print it out on plain paper until you have all the spacing just right and it looks like you want it.  Then print the business cards.

You can also take the cards and the magnets to someplace like a Kinko's and use their computers to create your cards for the magnets.  They have Publisher and other software.  Publisher is much easier than Word for creating something like this.

    Good luck and have fun!

  2. These sites carry a ticket save the date.  You could try customizing something like that? Like a train ticket? Here are a few ideas:

  3. Heres a  site I found to order from, because if your like me im not all that creative and I'd be afraid to mess them up lol

  4. There are tons of sites where you can upload the photo for the magnet. If you find and save a photo you like, Google "save the date magnets" and you'll get an entire list of websites to order from.

    Good luck!

  5. You can always make your own!  Use a picture (or pictures) that you have or take one (or more) at the location you mentioned.  You can purchase full sheets of magnets (office supply stores) that you can print and then cut to your desired size or you could use the business card size if you want.  These are light weight and easily mailed.

We’re kind of baseball nuts (he plays) and we did this using pictures of us wearing our #9 and #13 jerseys since we’re getting married (or “stepping up to the plate” as we put it) on September 13th.  They turned out really well and we got LOTS of compliments on them.

    Good luck!
