Where can I find some electric car parts sources?

There are some retail sites online. I'm interested in source suppliers for motors, batteries, controllers, etc. Has anyone checked into this?

  2. I haven't checked into it, but I've read about people finding electric motors off boats and making motorcycles electric.  They usually find the motors on craigslist.
