I need to identify certain parts of a simple row boat frame for a project - anyone know of a site that names these parts? It has to be the correct terminology.

  1. Some would be gunnel, thwart, tholepin, bow, stern, oarlock, oars, painter, port side, starboard side, etc.

Some rowboats also have a mast and sail.  Then there would need to be a rudder of some sort - the rudder could be an oar.

These are the only links I could find.  Hope they help.

  2. Go to this web page, more then you want to know!

    www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/gloss...

  3. buy the book called 'CHAPMANS' it is the small boaters bible.  Lots terms, pictures etc.
