All I want is one that has the lowest fees out of all the mutual funds that do nothing but mimic the S&P 500.

  1. Open ended Mutual fund:  Vanguard or Fidelity S&P500 funds

    or

    ETF = "SPY"

    All three are as inexpensive as it gets.

  2. The Vanguard S&P Index fund is the cheapest and they're so good at executing the index strategy they they're sometimes able to actually OUTPERFORM the underlying index once management fees, commissions, expenses, etc. are considered.
