Books will only give you "book" value. For current market value the only place to turn to is eBay. Most of the books on the market are many years old and don't reflect the current economic turmoil and/or recent "warehouse finds" that can greatly diminish the value of older die-cast. One great example is the "Jack Rabbit Special" Jack in the Box edition. It used to sell for a couple hundred dollars, then someone found a long-forgotten case of them. The value dropped by 60% almost overnight.
