Question:

Where can I find the original paint color options for a 1991 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic?

I currently own a 1991 HD Heritage, and would like to replace the front fender. I want to match up the color exactly, and need to know the actual name for my paint scheme. I'm actually hoping to get a Fatboy fender to replace my Heritage style fender.

  1. goto borders or like book store, they have history of harley book, with photos of each year.

  2. Buy the fender, take it to a decent paint shop & have them match the color to your existing paint scheme.  They should be able to match (fade it out) what your bike already looks like.  At least any shop worth 1/2 a sh*t can handle that.

  3. You have a couple of options to do this, since it is a 91, matching the paint exactly will not work on getting afender and painting the new one as the paint is dulled from time.

The other two options I have heard of are first to buy a used fender of the same make and model that has not been painted something different, as this will match up with the time factors of your own, you can find these on craigs list, ebay, and through the local harley organizations from other bikers. The next option is for you to get one you want, new or used, and have the frame and new fender custom painted.

One of our local group members does custom painting and his impression is that this is the easiest way to ensure that you get that all over matching paint look. It is not that costly, if you go with a basic high sheen color.

Good luck hunting, I did look on ebay and there a few fenders that might suit your needs, but i do not kow what color you are looking for.
