Question:

Where can I find the smallest sub-box possible?

I drive a 94 Nissan pickup, with barely any room behind the seats. I plan on getting two Elemental Designs sq10 subs, only 3.5 inches deep, which should fit, however I haven't found a box that takes advantage of their size. Also, I can't have the box too wide as the truck is rwd, so the transmission hump in the middle gets in the way... The dimensions aren't fresh in my head but if I remember correct it should be close to 16-19"wide x 16-17"tall x 6-7"bottomdepth x 3-5"topdepth. Thanks for any help!

  1. Like they said, build your own. If you can't/won't build your own www.subwoofersetc.com has some already loaded boxes, and some custom truck boxes that should fit your needs.

  2. build one! You can make it custom to the way you want and it is a fun project! Get some 1/2 inch ply, some  marine carpet and some glue and you can have yourself a pretty nice litte sub box! most of the stuff you might be able to find on craigs list as something people are giving away.  Thats what I would Do!

  3. ye! build it! you can use some 8" peerless speakers which can handle small space and still work fine.

  4. You can have a local car audio shop or someone with experience building enclosure build one.  Although you have limited space you need to get as close as you can to the manufacturer's recommendations for enclosure size.

    Good Luck!!!

  5. Totally, build it yourself!

  6. I agree, build one.  Or take it to a shop that builds custom boxes.  You can even get it fiberglassed.

That might be the better option if you've got the money, and your aren't able to build one yourself.  Your box is crucial when it comes to sound quality.
