Question:

Where can I find the value of my guitar before selling it?

I have a Fender Stratacoustic that I love but money issues are forcing me to sell it. My question is how do I find out how much it should be worth before trying to sell it online or taking it to a guitar store?

I understand that if I take it somewhere like guitar center they will give me a price but I don't wanna get ripped off and want to have some idea of how much I could get for it first.

Its a few years old and I got it used myself, I think I paid about $150 for it, originally I know it was worth about $300. I'm hoping to get at least $90 for it to be worth selling it but I don't know if I should be asking for more.

Is there any website I could look on to find out the general price that these are going for?

  1. musiciansfriend.com

this will give you a price for it but look and find out which

model is yours first or you might get lost

in the sea of fender strats.

    hope this helps

  2. Is it a Fender or a Squire (by Fender)?

True, you can look on Musician's Friend, but they are selling new guitars and are way overpriced.

Really the best way is to go on ebay and see what they are going for.  There are two on ebay now that are both listed at $150 (starting reserve) and they aren't exactly blowing up with bids.  You can probably get $90, but it's not going to be easy.  It's not a very desirable guitar.

If you really love it so much, have you thought about pawning it?

  3. ebay

  4. at least $130

    but sell for $150
