I went to a chinese restaurant last night and we had vegetarian beef chow fun, and the veggie beef was made from mushrooms, and it tasted better than any soy made veg beef I've had, it was really really good and I'm wondering if anyone knows a store that sells such a product. I went to Trader Joes today and all they had was the soy kind... has anyone seen this in the stores?

  1. Quorn uses some sort of mushroom instead of soy. I find Fred Meyer has the largest selection in my area.

  2. Hey there,

Trader Joe's has only a really small selection so I'm not surprised they don't have it.  Whole Foods will definitely have something similar.

If you're having trouble finding the product you're looking for, even at Whole Foods, then visit this website http://www.vegieworld.com/index.asp?  Many of the Asian Veggie Restaurants buy their "meat" products from there.  But the downside is you may have to buy in bulk.
