Where can I find trains in Pennsylvania?

I'm looking for a recreational train ride, maybe one with a dining section/service and I can't seem to find one in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I just want to be able to sit and relax, look out the window, and enjoy the ride. Thanks to anyone who can help.

  1. If you're after tourist railroads Pennsylvania has plenty of them from the New Hope & Ivyland to the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern as well as everything from steam locomotives to dinner trains.  To get a good idea of everything PA has to offer check the link below and search under Pennsylvania.

  2. Dang, the natural smartass in me wanted to say look on or near the tracks too.

Now the precedent has been set I cant say it and it is killing me :-(

I like your name but there is no shame in being a carnivore, come out of the closet and join the rest of us.

  3. nSullivan gave you great answers... I'm on the west-coast and get confused with the placement of east-coast states... but try this link to the National Historical Railroad Assc. http://www.dcnrhs.org/trips/index.html

I was going to be a smart-@ss when I saw the question without the follow-on info:

You find Trains on railroad tracks !!

  4. Go stand on a set of tracks, I'll bet you find one sooner or later.

  5. Steamtown Railroad in Scranton, Pa. Jim Thorpe Railroad in Jim Thorpe, PA. Their are tons out there. I've been on both. Look them up.

  6. Good thing you sound nice, I would have said on the tracks too!
