Check thrift stores. Some of them will have a lot of furniture. They usually have a lot of tables-taller ones and short, too. They usually are not more than 10 bucks. If they aren't too scratched up, fine. If they are, then just paint over them with a fun color.

Also, check garage sales. Most of the stuff is usually overpriced, but you should be able to haggle it down to a good price.
