The American Philatelic Society (http://www.stamps.org) has a great web site for searching among stamp dealers as well as its own on-line "stamp store" (http://www.stampstore.org/sto_advancedse...  You can find plenty of stamp prices if you know what country you're looking for.  Recommended.

you can check the going rate on http://ebay.com to get a gauge on what people are willing to pay. but ebay is usually a buyers market, meaning whatever it's selling for on there, you can get more for it through other sources.
