If I can't find a supply from a gardening store, can I use a form sold at a health food store designed for human consumption by altering it in some way?

  1. What I would do is get some of the miracle-gro acid for Azalea's and a Miracle-Gro Advance Feeder. It attaches to the hose, or the bottle that attaches to the hose an spray the leaves on the tree that the hose will reach, and water your tree.

You should only have to do this once.

This fertilizer is a good source for chelated iron, They also have tree spikes but they are slow release. I think you can use them in the fall or spring.

This is the method I used for my pine trees. They were yellowing and I did lose one, but it saved two others and they are very healthy now.

  2. I'm not sure how you would calculate the proper amount needed for a tree, and would imagine that it would be very pricey.   Here's a link for you to check out, though, maybe you can find a distributor in your area.  Good luck.

  3. A gardening store will have some.

There are a bunch of different products that have water-soluable iron.  Ironite, Liquid Iron, Liquid Iron with Soil Acidifier,Sprint 138, Ferrimac, Ferriplu, Iron Sulphate, Ironate.

Just tell them you need Iron for an iron-deficient tree, and they can probably show you about 5 products they have on hand.

(and using chelated iron packaged for humans - you need SO MUCH of it for a tree, you'd go bankrupt trying to buy enough to treat the tree)
