Where can I get Financial Aid for a summer volunteer trip with GLA?

I really want to go on this trip with Global Leadership Adventures either this summer or next. Its designed specifically for 15-18 year olds and they do things like community work and culture immersion and stuff. Does anyone know companies that would sponser me to do this or some organisation that might give grants? Altogether I have to raise about £3000. Ideas?

You need to start with a letter writing campaign to all your friends and family explaining what you would like to do, how much you need.  

Do you work?  Do you babysit?  Do you mow lawns?  You could wash cars for your neighbors and friends.  Think about the things you like to do and are able to do, could you turn them into money making ideas?  Got anything you could sell on eBay?

Companies generally don't sponsor individuals for activities like this.  You're looking for the easy way out.   It's hard work raising funds for volunteer trips like this, you have to humble yourself to ask everyone to help sponsor you.  

Good luck, if you really want to do the GLA thing, you'll figure out a way to get the funding.

Usually companies that you're connected to will help.  Think of organizations that members of your family or friends work for.  Also, think of companies you deal with a lot.  Start a letter writing campaign to anyone and everyone who you think would like to be a part of your success.

There are no companies that will sponsor you. If you search through the resolved questions on YahooAnswers, you will find this question asked again and again and again. Companies are overwhelmed with requests like yours. They refuse them all, for the most part.

You need to:

-- work to make money for your trip

-- ask family and friends for money for your trip

-- ask your community of faith and/or your school to make a donation for this trip

-- offer to talk to community groups after your trip, in return for a small grant to help you pay for it.
