  1. Check into foster care - those are the kids that really need a loving home.

Adoption is often possible through that route - and it won't cost much.

You'll need to have some checks - and be approved - but check with your local government dept that handles foster care.

As for caring for an adoptee - do read HEAPS from adult adoptees - as they are the one's that have lived adoption.

Adoptees need some extra special care - as they've already lost one family - and that needs to be remembered - and handled with great care.

Here's a place to start - check out the many links all around the blog - to other blogs - books - websites - make sure you read widely  -

  2. You seem rather young to be adopting, and would not be a priority when it comes to placing you with a child.

  3. If you are Christian and want to adopt out of country then go to www.awaa.org that's the agency my family used when we adopted my little sister.

  4. you can adopt dogs, cats, puppies or kittens from you local animal shelter

  5. a part-time job won't give you enough to raise a baby.   methinks you haven't researched this much.

    andraya, nice...ROTFLMAO!

  6. Yes its possible ill give you a web site its a good place to start also check with your local agencies where you live heres the site start here Good luck

  7. This site  will give you a lot of info about adoption in general.  Honestly,  your current situation isn't optimal for adoption agencies to place children in.  It's also very expensive.

  8. I have to agree with KT ...at 20 you may be too young to take on this huge monumental task, especially being single and working part time. unless you're extremely wealthy and have extended family support.  I would advice you to get a little more time and knowledge under your belt.

If you're interested in helping children you can work at your local boys and girls club or volunteer to hold & rock premature infants in your local neonatal intensive care unit.  (Infants who may not have parents or are wards of the court, a.k.a. foster children and need somebody to show them someone cares).http://www.angelsinwaitingusa.org/tinyon... This would be a great start, and who knows maybe, you may be inspired to become a nurse or a neonatologists.

    Good luck.
