in uk, try "3" or vodafone. they both have usb dongles that connect to mobile networks and provide broadband-like internet connections. they are competing strongly against each other for a share of this market, so prices are good (from £10 per month to £30 per month depending on download limit). if you get one of these monthly deals the dongle is free, if you go pay-as-you-go the dongles are about £100

you can get a dongle type modem from t-mobile for bout 15 squid a month, you can surf all over the gaff even abroad but that cost a little more.

Well, if you have a wireless card, you can go to pretty much any coffee shop - most Starbucks have wireless. Also bookstores - Books-a-Million, Barnes and Noble, and Borders pretty much all have wireless too. There are also wireless cafes that you can go to. If you're wanting to get wireless installed at your house - Time Warner and BellSouth both have options you can add to your cable.

Well some if not most DSL services offer data lines without voice lines. There is always Cable internet too.

I bought my own Cable and DSL modem(s) so I don't have to "Rent" or buy a modem from either Cable or DSL services.

Verizon and AT&T both have notebook cards that allow you to use their broadband connection where ever they provide cell phone service. Check out their websites, but in order to use the card you will need to pay a fee just like you would for a cell phone plan
