My friend asked me where they could get Medicaid and what plan would be best for them? I told her a place to try, but I wanted to find out more information to give her more options. Can anyone help?

She is almost 19, currently unemployed, no kids, is looking for a free or very cheap Medicaid at the moment. Is willing to pay once she finds a job, so if you know of some good health insurance plans you can post them as well. But for now, like a said, cheap or free Medicaid is what she is looking for.

  1. It's run on a state by state basis, so she'll have to go to her local Medicaid office and apply.

  2. Are you from Singapore? your friend should get medishield (singapore based) using her medisave account. Otherwise she can get a Hospital Plan like Manucare (from Manulife), which gives a yearly cover of up to $20,000 in inpatient bills and daily cash of $100 for each day she is hospitalized. Her age is young so she will enjoy lower premiums.
