My hubby insist on finding a Blue Roan gelding before he will retire his trail horse. Where in Northern Ca. can I get one for a reasonable price? Must be husband friendly mind you. And i'd prefer under 10 years old. I made the mistake of telling him about them!

  2. I love blue roans too...I have one, a 3 yr old (hes technically a bay/blue roan...cuz he has both colours for frosting...but yeh...lol) umm you can try myDreamHorse.com

    or Horsetopia.com or Equisearch.com??

    Good Luck!

  3. There's more to a horse than color. You need to consider temperament, training, conformation and health as well. Going to find a "perfect" horse by searching it's color is like trying to find the perfect man at a pink floyd concert. It's unlikely to happen, and if by some chance of fate you do find a man- you'll most likely regret it when you sober up.

But to entertain you. Go to any horse website, advance search, scroll down to blue roan on the color's and have at it.

  4. Blue roans are my favorite color.  But they are VERY hard to find even here in the midwest where they seem to be more common.  I know a breeder in Missouri who has quite a few.  B-Kquarterhorses.com Otherwise you can try the Quarter Horse journal and if you don't mind a Paint you can look in the Paint horse journal.  Dreamhorse.com is another good place to find one, tha's how I sold my black mare.

  5. some of the best looking blue roans that I have ever seen is a Palomino Valley mustang that they adopt out of Reno nevada and Northern  California I cant remember for sure where but you can call the BLM in Reno and ask them about the Palomino Valley mustangs or go to mustangs4us.com and they could help you find one hey are very good. In their color section on the web site they have a pix of a blue roan almost at the bottom of the page and also every other color of the rainbow. if you have never had a mustang before they are the smartest and most loyal horse you will ever have! but your farrier will hate you because you will never have to shoe them and a trim is only every 6 mo to a year even when doing trail rides and if you need to have shoes on to do a trail put boots on because you don't want to ruin there feet by putting shoes on.

  6. There are many sites that you can go to, to find the horse for you, the way i found my mare was through a site called

    Dreamhorse.com

This site gives you many different search engines, some that are very advanced..right down to the very mile distance you wish to drive to get the horse, it gives you ages and price ranges, as well as pedigree and if their registrated or not. They also rate the tempermant on a 1 to 10 scale, i found this very useful in my horse hunting

    i hope i could help =]

  7. Some sights you could try are:

    http://www.equinenow.com/

    http://www.horsetopia.com/

    http://www.horsefinders.com/

    http://www.agdirect.com/

These sights allow you to specify, age, color, and location.  Best of luck on your search!
