Question:

Where can I get a Direct3D driver for my Inspiron 6400?

I've installed several games on my laptop but I can't open them. They've installed correctly, but it comes up with an error saying that the Direct3D I have doesn't support the texture, shadows etc. I've been on the Dell site and I can't find any update of drivers, I've searched all over the net, no luck.

I have the latest version of Direct X and as far as I know, all my drivers are up to date. I noticed on some other forums that other people where having difficulties with wide-screens. Is this my problem and if so, what can I do to fix it?

This is the first time I've used this Answers, that is how desperate I am. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. usually Direct 3D automatically installs with games that require it... I'm not sure where else to find it.  If your computer is new within the last 4ish years then you should have a compatible video card for sure (I haven't played around much with games and older video cards).

I'd try putting some of the newer games in and exploring the folders on the CD to see if there is any of the software in there.
