  1. Unfortunately, this option will not be cheap.  You could ask your computer manufacturer for a recovery disc, which usually costs around $50-$100.  Or you could just buy a new Win XP installation disc from Best Buy, Target, or some place like that, which will cost you around $130.  Best Buy can reinstall windows for you but it will cost you $130 also.  So, maybe you could borrow someone else's windows installation disc and perform the repair using that one.  It is legal as far as I know, because your computer has windows xp on it already.

  2. Borrow one from a friend, almost any will do, just make sure it's the same type (Pro or HE) and the same level (service pack) as yours when it was installed.

  3. HI,

you can either purchase the official 'full' version of windows xp home or pro from a store, though u might not find it as sales are over!(you can find remaining stock which wasnt sold in few shops).

    OR

you can download a windows xp professional iso file, burn it to a dvd or cd(s), and install from there. The best way to do this is to download a torrent file and use utorrent to download the program.HERE R THE STEPS U NEED TO FOLLOW:-

    1) download and install utorrent= http://utorrent.com/

    2) go here= http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=w...

and select an appropriate torrent by the titles...

    3) Click 'download this torrent' after selecting one, and allow it to run..

    4) you will see utorrent open . Just click on OK or NEXT or whatever it is to continue and start downloading. Might take a while depending on your connection. for 56 kbps it takes about 48 hours! forbroadband about 256 kbps( most common speed) it will take about 12-18 hours.

I suggest to leave the download on at night.

    5) after download over burn the .iso file to cd.

Here is guide for doing that =
