Where can I get a cheap Kayak?

Question

I want to get a kayak in Wisconsin, but not a really expensive one. I would prefer one under $100 that is not inflatable and has a hard shell. Please help!

Canoecopia, in Madison, is coming up March 9-11.  If you have never been there, you should definitely check it out.  It is one of the best canoe/kayak expos in the country.  You can get show discounts.  

Otherwise, you could check craigslist.com for a used boat in Wisconsin.  This is another great site - It is the River Touring Group, affiliated with the Sierra Club, in Wisconsin.  Check out their classifieds at http://wisconsin.sierraclub.org/rts/.  There are usually some pretty good deals there.

You can also check http://www.wisconsinrivers.org/.  There is a link on the site to local paddling groups, and some of those may have used boats.  I don't know if you are looking for a whitewater kayak or a sea kayak, but if you want whitewater, you could check out Bear Paw resort, up along the Wolf River.  They sell used boats, but I doubt you will be able to find one for under $100 there.  Oh, check out ebay too.
