  1. Yuo know.....a kitten has to go to the vet(about $150 there =/) Also it needs food.($5 a week) It's also a lot of responsibility. A person isnt going to give a free kitten to a kid. The vet wont let you pay for the expenses at the vet. If you are old enough you should volenteer at the SPCA and maybe one of the workers are going to see how good you are with animals and tell your parents that you are old enough. Try that. I hope i helped.

  2. check the local newspaper. they usually have them for free. You'll have to get it's updated shots and check at 9 weeks old.

  3. No one is going to just give a child a free animal. And to think you can just hide it from your parents is just plain ridiculous! What about food and vet care? This stuff doesn't just grow on trees, you have to have money. Not to mention the idea that you're going to keep a cat locked in a little room and hope it doesn't meow shows you're clearing not thinking.

Animals are not an impulsive toy to buy, they're a family member and you don't seem to understand that.

  4. I know here in America we look in the classifieds in the newspaper. The pets section always has free to good home ads for kittens and puppies.

  5. Ask around the neighborhood if anyone's cat had recently given birth to kitties! Also,I know you don't want me to tell you not to, but how are you going to PAY for the expenses? What if the kitty needs to go to the vet? You have to be over 18 to take a kitten to the vet. How are you going to come up with cash for all of that? Aren't your parents going to notice?

  6.   Any kitten you get free is unlikely to have had even its first vaccines and worming. And its unlikely the owners have had its mother or other resident cats tested for deadly diseases that could have been passed on to the kitten (which may remain healthy for a few months).

Kittens must have a series of three vaccines every 3-4 weeks. Then at around 6 months for females, younger for males, it must be spayed or neutered.

Meanwhile, kittens need 3 to 4 meals a day of very high quality food ( I use Evo ). And, pardon my French, kittens are miniature p**p machines so the litter box will need to be checked and cleaned at least twice each day and replaced completely every 2 or 3 days.

How on earth are you going to pay for all this?

Also, cute little kittens are cute little kittens for a very short time. They grow rapidly into mature adults.

Animals do not exist for our amusement, they are not toys, but individual beings with their own needs and agendas. When ours and theirs can mesh that is a lovely thing but requires maturity and responsibility on part of the human.

  7. Ill tell you this, having a kitten is like having a baby. Its like taking care of a child. It needs your attention 24/7. You can get one in your local newspaper but dont expect it to be easy. If you live with your parents, the meowing and litter box smell alone will give you away....so you might wanna rethink your decision. Hiding an animal isnt fair to the animal.

  8. go to craigslist.com

im not sure if they have them in canada. but try it

  9. No one is going to give you a cat without your parents present.

P.S.- If you can't afford 170 dollars to adopt a kitten, then you can't afford to take care of him.  Kittens need shots, food, grooming, regular medical care.  You are not ready for a pet, especially if you want to hide it.

  10. go to:

    http://www.kijiji.ca/

click vancouver and then under pets click cats and kittens and then on the right click offering

many people give out their pets there

good luck and i hope that when your parents find out you dont get into much trouble

    good luck!!!

  11. I agree with Maria. If you don't have $170 to get the cat then how is it that you will provide food, litter box, litter, toys, vet etc. Let me tell you, cat owners spend  a fortune on cat litter. If I were to have all the money I've spent on litter I'd be one rich little b..ch. Kittens eat a lot, like all they do is play, eat, poo, pee, and meow like crazy.  It'll be hard for your parents not to find out unless you're living on your own. Lastly, kittens get sick and need their shots. Those shots are expensive. If you don't do it the cat will die. Start picturing your life with a cat you can't take care of.

I'd wait a little bit until I can afford a kitty.

  12. Check in craigslist= www.craigslist.org and click canada then your town.  Remember when u adopt the kitties is like your mama and dad take of you with expences, times, energy, etc.  Vet check is another your might have  to reconsider for being a financially respoinsible.
