where can I get a registry cleaner that cleans my registry ? I don't want one of those trial versions. I want to be able to down load and use my cleaner.

A popular and safe and effective product is CCleaner, which is a disk and registry cleaner. Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is another option, though it is more aggressive and therefore more likely to remove a valid entry. TweakNow and EasyCleaner are both moderate cleaners which are not too aggressice, though they have not been updated for a while. I've heard Wise Registry Cleaner is quite good if you do not delete the "potentially unsafe" entries. RegSeeker is way too dangerous.

However, you should only run registry cleaners when there are errors with your computer or software issues, NOT as a regular cleanup routine. See:

CCleaner, it clenas the Registry (and does back ups too, jsut incase it goes fubar) and does loads of other stuff too like add or remove programs, delete temproary and junk files, and remove unnecssary progrmas form the start up order.

Its a wonder tool for speeding up your PC by getting rid of unneseacary c**p,and one of hte Editors Choice downlaods ion CNET.com
