  1. If you can afford a $600/month lease, you can get a Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle for 3 years, if you're really really lucky.  They're only leasing about 100 in southern California, probably mostly to celebrities.  See link below.

  2. Many automakers have been testing hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles for a number of years. However, bringing fuel cell vehicles to market--in other words: mass production is not easy. The issues the auto industry face are complex in terms of technology, fuel infrastructure, safety, and cost.

Real-world research is helping to further the development of fuel cell vehicles, but it will be quite a while before they are on sale at the local dealership. When they are available, they will likely be sold alongside gasoline-powered vehicles and hybrids, at least initially.

Honda is not new to the fuel cell game. They've been developing hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles since the beginning of the decade, and their original FCX—a short, stubby 2-door based on the EV Plus electric car—went into fleet service in 2002.

Currently, Honda's 2009 FCX Clarity is offered on a limited 3-year lease basis at $600 per month (which includes collision insurance and all maintenance)  to consumers in southern California. While hydrogen availability is still limited, Honda is working on developing a home-based refueling system. The current version, called Home Energy Station IV, produces hydrogen from natural gas. In addition to hydrogen for the FCX Clarity, the Home Energy Station also produces electricity and heat for the home. The FCX Clarity has a range of 270 miles, and Honda calculates its fuel efficiency to be comparable to a car getting 68 mpg. Visit www.honda.com.

Other automakers are working on developing hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles for the mass market.  Chevrolet and Ford also are promoting their hydrogen-powered and plug-in electric vehicle models with pilot projects in California. BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen and Daimler have hydrogen fuel cell automotive projects.

GM has reassigned more than 500 engineers to work on fuel cell systems. Some 100 will begin integrating fuel cells into future models, according to reports that state hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles could be tested globally within five to six years.

Ford has a fleet of 30 hydrogen-powered Focus fuel cell vehicles on the road as part of a worldwide, sevem-city program to conduct real world testing of fuel cell technology. The 30-car fleet has accumulated nearly 580,000 miles since its inception in 2005.

BMW has been testing its hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered 7 Series with high-profile designers, film actors and directors and stars in California.

Two years ago, Michigan's Wayne State University Police Department operated the first fuel cell-powered police vehicle, which was based on the Mercedes F-Cell. Wayne State is located in Detroit. The vehicle was used as a learning lab for engineering students.

you can get much information in this website, stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time, you can aslo get your answer in Google Search in this website, which has helped me alot

  4. why would you want one?

  5. Unless you live in Southern California, you can't. The infrastructure for Hydrogen won't be around for at least another decade or two. For now, you'll have to settle with either biofuels or hybrids.
