  1. Publix DOES hire 14 year olds. Try there if you have one around. I think chick-fil-a does, but you should call and ask.

Not many companies hire 14-15 yr olds, because there is such a restriction on what they can do.

Try putting an ad on craigslist, or your local newspaper for babysitting, dog walking, dog washing, car washing, mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, etc.

Just call some places you would like to work, and ask.

I know for a fact publix hires 14 yr olds.

  2. I dont think they would hire you as far as i know most jobs dont hire anyone under the age of 16. I could be wrong but the ones that I applied at when I was 15 told me i was too young.

Try doing work around the house or your neighborhod.

  3. ask your parents for an early loan

  4. I wouldn't recommend doing on-line surveys.  Most of them are scams, and they just want your information.  Trust me, don't do it.

But there are other ways in which you could make $1,300 before next summer.  A job that I had for a couple of years now I cutting my Grandmother's grass.  Last year, she payed me $25.00 every week during the summer.  This year she's paying me $30.00.  If I am correct, this is the third consecutive year that I'm doing this.

So basically, what I'm saying is start your own Lawn-care service.  On Microsoft Word, make your list on what you're cable of doing.  E.g., [You're name] Lawn-Care Service.  I would throw in some other things too such as, washing a vehicle, vacuuming it, trimming, hedging, etc.

14 years old may be a little too young for it, but if you have a discussion with your parents about it, then they may allow you to do this.  Oh yeah, do chores around the house for allowance, and make deals with school deals.  Like for every A+ that you receive on your report card, you'll earn $1.00 or something.

Before I forget, if you like sports you could possibly be a Umpire, Referee, or maybe a choaces assistant.  Or possibly a Bat Boy.

These are just a couple of ideas, I hope they help!  Good luck.

    -- Remember, don't fill out on-line surveys!

  5. try fast food, or ever babysitting. there are not a whole lot of people who will hire people that young, it is a big risk with child labor laws and so on!

  6. try for supermarkets and the library those are the places around my area that hire or try snagajob.com they will tell you places of availability in your area and age limits

  7. There are plenty of ways to earn sizable income online despite your age, and without spending any money upfront. Most are affiliate programs and surveys related, games, pay to read, etc.. Companies are always looking for people to take part in their market research and will pay quite a lot of money to individuals for their contributions. I have been involved with many programs and made lots of money online over the past 4 years, and believe anyone can do the same. Very simple work! Here is one of my websites with a listing of great companies to get started with:

Also you can check out a reputable provider of awesome work-at-home offers at:

Good luck and hope you make lots of money online.

  8. i had the same question:

i worked at the local consessions stand at the baseball park, and i applied at the county waterpark fer counting cars, both were 6.50 and hour and ive made about $400 so far this summer :)

  9. it is hard to find a job at 14 because there are limits on when and how much you can work. most companies have their own policies concerning the hiring of minors so the only way to know about individual businesses is to apply. restaurants and grocery stores are usually the best options for minors under 16 because they find it easier to work within the labor guidelines for that age group.

you are young and inexperienced so the first impression you make is critical. be sure when you go to apply that you are dressed appropriately that you go when the business is slow and ask for a manager, introduce yourself and politely ask for an application and the appropriate time to bring it back. you must have great references so talk to coaches, teachers, clergy, friends parents, anyone you have done casual labor for or places you have volunteered. make sure you ask them if you may use them for a reference and get current contact information for them.

for info about hours you can work, work permit, job suggestions, interview information etcetera go to: http://www.youthrules.dol.gov

there are links for each state with info for employers, educators, parents and TEENS

it varies some from state to state but generally

at 14 or older you can work in an:

    office,

    grocery store,

    retail store,

    restaurant,

    lodging facilities,

    movie theater,

    baseball park,

    municipal parks(city or county),

    amusement park, or

gasoline service station just to name a few……………….

some businesses that do hire 14 and 15 year old employees include:

McDonald's, Burger King, Chic-Fil-A, Sonic, Krogers, Publix, Stop & Shop, Hardee's, Dollar Store, Target

most businesses are independently owned or operated so their policies for hiring minors may vary. although it is legal to work not all operators will hire those under 16 so just apply everywhere, the worse that can happen is you don't get hired.

in most states you can work 40 hours a week while school is out of session and then when school is back in session you can work 18 hours a week. the link provided above explains when and how much you can work.
