Where can I get a phone that will text in Hebrew and English?

I am going to Israel for a year and I will be getting a new phone with an Israeli number. I want the phone to have a keyboard with Hebrew and English letters, and be able to easily change between the languages so I can text in both.

All phones in Israel can be used in various languages.(Usually Hebrew, English, Arabic, Russian - I've had phone that  were in Spanish, Portuguese, and French as well). It's very east to transfer between Hebrew and English while texting (you can even send a message with both Hebrew and English charecters).

You don't need to worry about that. Any phone you get in Israel would do.

Unfortunately you will only be able to get that in Israel unless you know someone who sells Israeli phones in the US.

Some phones have the ability to read Hebrew but in order to write Hebrew you need a certain software.

If your buying a phone with windows mobile you might be able to download Hebrew for windows mobile but you can't get a Hebrew keyboard.

Basically you have 2 options :

1. Get a phone in Israel

2. Buy a phone here (much cheaper) that is also available in Israel and when you get to Israel ask them if they can add Hebrew for you. You'll have to live without a Hebrew keyboard tho.

If it will give you the ability to write in Hebrew you could get little stickers with the Hebrew letters or text people in English letters (like Shalom ma nishma) it's not a big deal.

P.S whatever phone you get, you will need an Israeli service provider, I recommend Orange.

I had to download software and i have it on my Blackberry to text in Hebrew. I forgot where i got the software. Sorry

Don't buy on line.

Let your relatives buy one for you in Israel.
