Where can I get a really big box like a refrigerator box?

I was hoping to get a refrigerator box from one of our local appliance stores to use to make an old western jail for my child's western themed birthday party. Unfortunately I called them all today and they don't have any. One place told me that the appliances don't usually come in boxes anymore! I was like, um...okay.

Anyway so now I don't know what to do. I've checked online and can't really find much for big boxes. I thought maybe a wardrobe box could work but they end up costing a fortune with shipping for one stupid box.

Does anyone know of any other places that might have big boxes? Or an online store that doesn't have a minimum order or doesn't charge a fortune for shipping?

Try a U-HAUL moving center. they sell wardrobe boxes there. Phone them first.

Try another store! Appliances and many other items are still shipped in cardboard boxes. Outdoor power equipment, electronics and stores that sell BBQ's are another good source. As a small local store, we are happy to help out our customers. Don't be afraid to tape 2 together. Tape companies love it.

I am wondering if shipping skids/pallet could be used for this project.

You may find them cheap locally or free.
