We're renovating our house soon and I was wondering where I can get a respirator mask that will fit our 14 year old daughter so she dosen't inhale all the dust/c**p/mould/bad things and die as we will be ripping down walls and I'm not sure what's on the other side.

  1. Check with your local County Health Department  (CHD)

or call the local branch of the Center for Disease Control. (CDC)

  2. Look in the yellow pages under safety equipment.   Most paint stores and hardware stores sell respirators.  There should be instructions on the packaging to test the fit.

  3. Make sure you get her a really good respirator, some of the mould/building materials are really toxic if inhaled.

  4. Make sure she keeps it on the whole time. Some things released into the air during demolition are very dangerous. Get her a really good set of filters for the respirator (P100 or above) as some particles are extremely small.

  5. Good Luck with your project. You may find many types of masks (and replacement filter cartridges if needed from most home stores in the tool dept. Many are capable of eliminating dust ,mold, odors,as well as fiberglass and dust from lead paint.  link to examples<>http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pr...
