  1. Depending on where you're from, go to petfinder.org and select horse, Arabian and enter your zip code.  I did a quick search and there are rescue groups that have senior Arabians in MD, PA, VA, MI, TN, IL, IA, AL, LA, TX, CO, WY, MT, AZ and CA.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Every state has rescue groups. I would try the trainers that race them

Go straight to the source The A.R.ASSOC

    Arab racing assoc

They will have a list of trainers ok

  3. I would recommend not adopting a retired racehorse unless you are an advanced rider and have a trainer willing to work with you as well.  While some retired racers are gentle and quiet, a majority need some retraining and expert supervision in order to put their racing past behind them.

  4. Why a race horse? My old stallion was a retired race horse but produced excellent endurance babies. He was a Sabre Chant son who was the first Arabian legion og merit in racing. Most of the Arabians when they leave the track are used for breeding or still make great all around horses. Plus there aren't as many of them so I would think that you would have a rough time finding one. I'd just keep an eye out for folks who are thinning their herd down or someone who just can't afford to keep them any more.
