Please note - am not talking about those small things - am looking for the large T-bone massive steaks.

  1. My favourite places for steaks in London are Notting Grill and El Gaucho

  2. There is a small chain called Pampa Grill. I know they have a place at Battersea Rise near Clapham Junction and Clapham Common.

    Some reviews here:

Also try looking up on www.toptable.co.uk

You can search for Steakhouse if you go to the section labelled The Americas under the "cuisine" drop down of the search box:

    This one is in Piccadilly:

At all costs avoid the Angus Steak House chain places that you see in central London. They are awful!

  3. Virtually anywhere...but, stick to bangers and mash while you are there.

    YUMMY stuff!

  4. The Prince Regent on Gloucester Road, in Kensington and Chelsea. They have a wonderful full size ribeye steak. I just had one there last night (26 March) before coming back to the states. Great appetizers, great table service---great

    people.

  5. Gaucho is definitely my favourite. You order by weight and the meat's always good. They also do great sides. There are several around London but I've only been to the one in Piccadilly, which I highly recommend - great venue on Swallow Street.

  6. I'm with Buster.  The Pampa Grills on Northcote Road and Battersea Rise are great - as are most of the restaurants and bars in that area - which is close to Clapham Junction.  If you go to Pampa, have yr steak rare and wash it down with a bottle of Argentinian Malbec

  7. I use Hardens to find good restaurants (www.hardens.com)

    Sophie’s Steakhouse SW10

    311-313 Fulham Rd MAP  7352 0088

“A great place for burgers and steaks”, this “buzzing” Chelsea grill is finally starting to live up to the hype that’s always surrounded it – it’s a “fun” place, and “the no-bookings policy means you can turn up on a whim”.

    www.sophiessteakhouse.com

    Pampa (Group)    ÃƒÂ‚£40    254

    4 Northcote Rd MAP, SW11 7924 1167

    60 Battersea Rise MAP, SW11 7924 4774

“Great steaks” are what this Argentinean chain is all about – it certainly isn’t the “no-frills” décor, or the “unmotivated” service.

    Gaucho (Group)

    88 Ifield Rd MAP, SW10 7823 3333

Chelsea Farmers’ Mkt, Sydney St MAP, SW3 7376 8514

    30 Old Brompton Rd MAP, SW7 7584 8999

“Super Argentinian steaks” – at “great prices”, too – win very consistent praise for these “bare bones” bistros; the original shack, in Chelsea Farmers’ Market, is the best bet, especially alfresco.

(I chose Very Good in the filtering category, but check out Hardens and see what sounds good to you)
