Where can I get a workers permit in NYC?

I have the application, I just don't know where to go. I'm 17 in search of the green workers permit. Is there anywhere in NYC where teens can go to get their worker's permit? Except for school, it's summer time now and I already graduated.

Dial 311 and ask them for a listing of places were you can go to get it. Thats what my friend did.
