Question:

Where can I get affordable Beauty Insurance for the salon I work at?

After working for other salons giving them half of my earnings, I decided to go in business for myself at a local salon and day spa. I'm an independent contractor, so I pay to rent a booth at a salon. I pay rent to work there and I have to have insurance to back me up. I am having a hard time finding this kind of insurance online, known as 'beauty insurance.' I dont want to have to spend an arm and a leg since I put a lot of my extra money into paying rent and buying supplies. Anyone know where to look exactly or how much it costs?

I looked some up online but its hard to find this specific kind of insurance, known as beauty insurance. Thank you and I will give 10pts to whoever helps me best! = )

  1. You will need to do some homework but here are a few links to professional liability for beauty salons. I have no connection with any of the organizations so I can't recommend one over another, nor can I endorse the suitability of the coverages provided (that's where your homework comes in). Some of the organizations do not operate in every State. Go online if you must but you might want to consider the last link shown.

    Sinclair Insurance - http://www.sinclairpremium.com/cosmetici...

    Insurance Policies Online - https://www.insurancepoliciesonline.com/...

    All Franchise Insurance - http://www.allfranchiseinsurance.com/cos...

    VCO Insurance Services - http://vychan.com/professional_liability...

Salon & Spa Specialty Insurance (SASSI) - http://www.sassiagency.com/

Instead of trying to do this online by yourself I would suggest you contact an independent agent in your area. An independent agent represents many companies and has a better chance of securing the coverage for you. You can check your Yellow Pages or use this link to find an agent near you - http://www.iiaba.net/agentlocator/findag...

  2. From a local, independent agent.  You can't get this online.  The policy should probably cost you between $300 and $700 a year, and will probably include professional liability as well as general liability.

Start with the guy that writes your car or house insurance.
