Where can I get an infant car seat installation inspection?

We're having our first baby in about a week. Yesterday we tried to install the base for the infant car seat in our car but weren't able to figure it out! Where can we can help with this to make sure its 100% correctly installed? We live in Los Angeles, California.

The police department usually has a designated person that can check out the installation and show you how to do it right.

Not all fire fighters nor police officers are certified to install carseats.  You want to find a certified tech who has taken the 40+hour course and keeps up to date on best practices.

You can go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles, and they should show you the correct way to install the child restraint safety seat.
