I've tried the spongy things but they pop out of my ears and don't really work.

I'm looking for earmuffs or plugs to drown out sound completely as I suffer from noisy neighbour.

Where can I get them from?

  1. You can get them in an O2 shop thats where i got some and go on www.amazon.co.uk(english)

    www.amazon.com(american)

  2. You can purchase them at a industrial place like a Gas-pro place or even in a lawn and garden store.  My husband works at a quarry and he wears this mold able ear plugs for work to protect his hearing from the loud equipment.  It looks like a sponge capsule that fits the ear.  Also, drug stores carry them too.  A homeless friend of mine who is an older woman sleeps in her truck and she had to get a headset type of ear phones at a thrift store so she can sleep in her truck and even if the police knock on her window she cannot hear them because they frighten her while she is sleeping.  They leave her alone because they realize she cannot hear them and she is fast asleep so they leave her alone.  Salvation Army stores or Good Will or any thrift store might sell them even if they do not work.  They are the old fashion head sets to listen to music they work wonders.

  3. Look into noise cancelling headphones.  Bose made them first, I believe, but there are others, less expensive.  They have a "white noise" that you can't really hear, but it blocks out noise.  They sell them at Brookstone, but you can probably find something effective and less expensive.

  4. I use the wax ones from Boots. I cut one in half, then soften it by sticking it down my cleavage, form one end into a point and push hard into my ear flattening the outer end. These are the most effectivet ones I've tried (I've even tried the industrial ones)

  5. Bose makes a headset that drowns out noise and also doubles as headphones.

  6. i have the same problem with noises - like my fella snoring!!

ive tried the simple little spongy ones from boots, they do drown out sound a lot but im always scared i wont hear my alarm clock!!!

  7. The Tool Crib has ear plugs and muffs! I have to use them at work. They will eliminate any sound when used together! Good luck, Hun!!!

  8. You probably can't get plugs that will completely drown out noise, since noise will go through the fleshy parts of your ears to your eardrums.  You can buy noise canceling headphones at Target or similar stores in the audio section.  The ones that will work cover the whole ear and are kind of bulky.  It might be hard to sleep in them if that's what you have in mind.  Really good ones are pretty pricey too, but you might find it worth the expense.

Be sure to look for the term "noise canceling" on them.

    Good luck!
