Where can I get enroute IFR charts?

I fly Flight Simulator 2004 with the PMDG 747, with full procedures and SID/STAR charts. Does anyone know a good place to get Enroute IFR/Airway charts, perhaps for free? Thanks!

  1. For free, you can't beat skyvector online (get a big monitor and set it to high resolution for best results).  http://www.skyvector.com/

For free REAL PAPER charts, see any pilot.  Every 56days all instrument publications expire.  For flight sim you won't notice as that data is already about 5 YEARS old if you don't have an advanced means to keep it updated and current.

For REAL PAPER charts that are current, it will cost you.

    http://www.avshop.com/

or any of the other vendor suggestions.

  2. www.sportys.com

    www.aircraftspruce.com

    www.jeppesen.com

If you want one for free you may try going to your local airport and asking for an expired copy.

  3. www.fltplan.com

  4. Go to the closest FBO or flight school and ask them for NOS/government IFR charts (they'll know what you mean.  you don't want jeppesen charts as they're more expensive...unless you want to spend the money).  They're not expensive at all.  Also, ask if they have expired ones.  Pilots/flight instructors are usually happy to give away their old, expired charts.

If this isn't an option, try sportys.com.

  5. You can order one at Sporty's on line or through their 800 number.

  6. SkyVector, http://www.skyvector.com

En-route IFR high and low, sectionals, TACs, FLY charts, for the U.S. only.

  7. A lot of pilot supply shops will sell the NOS copies of the low altitude and high altitude enroute charts.
