Where can I get free anti-virus software?

Question

I wish not to use AVG free edition anymore it is causing me problems.. I want to know if there is anymore good recommended software that I can use and trust, thanks.

norton has a free trial one,you  wont get any updates when the trial time expires but it really works.

use avast its also free

do not go to google and search free antivirus that is how you get viruses

Avast and Avira are both better than AVG:

1. Avast!

a. Real-time protection

b. It has an option to delete a virus once found

c. Can detect about 87.46% of viruses.

Cons: Too many icons and confusing user interface

2. Avira AntiVir

a. It can detect malware better than Avast and AVG

b. It's cute umbrella icon

c. Can detect about 94.26% of viruses

Cons: A very sluggish update

Avast is another free one that people like to use. I would recommend that if you don't want AVG.

Look up 'Spybot Search&Destroy'

Its a great program that updates weekly and is best known for finding lots of subtle malicious software that can really mess with your computer.

Spybot search & destroy is free. I use that with Trend Micro and it's pretty effective. Trend costs money but it's really worth it.
