There's Ihop in America and even Denny's, in Toronto there's nothing. I think there's like a Denny's in Mississauga or something.

I need a good place that serves pancakes, the ultimate pancake place, there's gotta be one in Toronto.

  1. Just an addition to what the previous contributer said about Golden Griddle - on Tues they have free-flow pancakes for 2.99. Amazing!

  2. The Grille on The Queensway.

They are a "diner" type spot but nice a big and clean.  Great food especially breakfast.  They are also open 24 hours.

  3. Golden Griddle is nice, but small portions, there is a place on College St near Bathurst called the Mars , they have some of the best non chain ones, even the Golden Griddles have a breakfast buffet, and Tuesdays is all you can eat for $8.99.

For larger portions you have to look at the smaller non descript places, as those types of items are not money makers, I was a chef and know it is the coffee, juice and eggs were the money is made.

  4. If you don't mind the greasy spoon places, the best and most generous pancakes in Toronto is at the Wexford restaurant I think its is on Lawrence in Scarborough. The breakfast there is just amazing, really poky little place but the pancakes are awesome and HUGE!! The other option, a greasy spoon turned classy joint is any of the Sunset Grills, especially the one in the beaches. Either way, you will get a great stack!

My final recommendation would be Fran's simply because the food it great and the price is very reasonable. It is not quite to the standard of the other two places, but certainly somewhere you will want to return to once you have tried it. There is one on College at Yonge.
