if anyone has an answer, please help. my buddy (cat) will die if I can't get him into surgery. PLEASE,,, any suggestions to save him ?

PLASE, DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER? My four month old , male cat, Buddy, needs emergency amputation of his right hind foot. Volunteer Services for Animals is the only place I know of to get help. I am on disability and do not live in a subsidized apt. They had me bring him to be seen at a local vetinary clinic. After the exam, they told me it will cost between $550 and $600 to amputate and save him. BUT,,, the VSA won't pay for surgery. They will only pay for him to be "put down!" THIS HURTS ME VERY MUCH, BECAUSE I SEE STRAY ANIMALS ON TV GETTING ALL SORTS OF SURGERY AND FOR FREE AND THEN THEY FIND AN ADOPTED HOME FOR THEM. Well, MY CAT HAS A HOME AND HE IS THE BEST LITTLE GUY EVER. Best natured, mannered, and beautiful. ALL BLACK with a white stipe on his belly.

IF ANYONE HAS A SUGGESTION ON WHO I CAN CALL OR WHAT I CAN DO TO SAVE HIM,

Pleas, send an email to mr_irp_snerple@yahoo.com or send sms text to 401-523-2461

  1. Call around, there are lots of vets who will let you make payments. This is common. You should be okay.

  2. Only up to $600 is a good deal on a surgery. Some can EASLILY be in the upper thousands. If you can't afford to do the surgery and he's in pain or will die without it, but you don't have the money, the kindest thing for Buddy would probably be to put him down. Don't make him suffer. It doesn't change whether he dies on his own or is put down. The end result is the same, but one way is better for him.

  3. Look into Care Credit, they work out credit for veterinary care so you can make small payments over time and your buddy gets taken care of.

  4. contact the PDSA if you are in england (though i think you have to be on benefits) anyway being a charity they may help you. Otherwise get a loan and use it to pay for the cat surgery

  5. Most vet clinics will allow you to make payments, $600 dollars isn't very much for that kind of surgery, do you have a visa or other credit card? Stuff you could sell? I would try and work a payment plan out with your vet.

  6. im sooo sorry about you buddy. maybe you can ask 4 donations. LONG LIVE YOUR KITTY!!!!!
