Where can I get high-end drinks?

I need to get a birthday present for my friend who is turning 30. Since he likes to drink, I would like to get him 30 year-old alcohol drinks - i.e., Ballantine's 30 year old. I don't know much about drinks. Is there other famous 30 year old drinks? Also, where can I get these drinks in Los Angeles area (or online)?

Are you aware of how expensive that will be? Ballantine and other 30 year old scotches will probably run you over $250. There are also 30 year Tawny Ports that, though expensive, should be under $100.

I'd suggest The Wine House in West LA. Take a look at their website. For a wine store they have a rather large liquor selection and if you are into wine - it's an awesome place. Very casual and the salespeople love to help.
