Here is a picture of my r700 police model in 300 wm. Ignore the scope and the rings on there, just for show, the real scope will be a mark 4 and rings will be badger ordnance.

The rifle looks very bland, I was wondering is there any place that would do a great job getting it camo painted? I want something along these lines.

  1. Just tape it with vinyl camouflage tape.*

  2. haha...I bought a Remington 700 when I was 18 because I knew it was the staple gun of Military snipers.  I blew like a months pay of my summer job.  It was a dumb investment because I already had a Benelli Novapump which I used to hunt w/ my father.  I live in upstate New York and we're not allowed to use rifles for hunting.

I watched the movie "Shooter" (what was it like a year and a half ago?) with Mark Whalberg.  They get a Remington 700 when they go all Rambo towards the end and to camo it, they spray paint it green and then use a leaf as stencil as they spray paint a little white over it.  It looked sick in the movie.  I was going to do the same to my R700 when my dad reminded me that I was about to destroy a 650 dollar gun.  I'm glad he did.  I guess I'm still immature at 20 years old.

Theres a gunsmith in my town that will camo guns for some outrageous price.  It would prob be a smart idea to just either do it yourself, or leave the beauty alone.  If you really want a camo rifle, join the Army or Marine Corps.

  3. Hydro Dip in Meridian Idaho does a "dip" that is fantastic. They do stocks, bows, motorcycle parts, you name it. In fact they do stuff for gandor mountain etc.  And they offer all types of Camo patterns.

  4. Duracoat is the ticket.   Do not paint it.

Either order the kit and do it yourself or find a local gunsmith to do it for you.  You should be able to call Lauer and see who they sell to locally for you.
