  1. Liverpool v Everton Betting Tip & Odds: Does not really have all of the makings of a classic really, with neither teams going great guns. This means that a draw is probably on the cards, and will be worth considering. But, we like looking at the Asian Handicap markets for a challenge in your football betting. All things considered, Liverpool have a decent home record and so should be looked at as winners first, and take into consideration their long unbeaten run at home against Everton. So, weighing up the outright odds below, why not push for a -1 Liverpool Asian Handicap for  11/5 at Bet365, or if you want to play a little more coverage, then a -0.75 Liverpool Asian Handicap is going for a decent 6/4 at Bet365 as well.

Liverpool to win: 13/10 at William Hill
    Draw: 23/10 at Totesport
Everton to win: 11/4 at Victor Chandler

EPL Match Preview: Pretty sure that most of remember the times when a Merseyside derby would have been the biggest fixture on the weekend card, without a doubt. Now however, it is merely a middle of the table clash, with the two sides looking for much better things to come. Both sides find themselves together again, just as they were when they met in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, in which the Toffees ran out 2-0 winners back in October of last year. When that match came around, both of the sides were hovering just above the drop zone after some poor starts to the season. Since then, there has been improvement, but certainly not enough, and both sides need more. Everton took quite a long time to get going this year, not winning a match until the eighth of the campaign. When that win came though, they went on an eight game unbeaten run, which really saw them draw away from the bottom. While Everton though have lost just once in their last six matches in the Premier League, they are still accumulating more draws than wins. Both at home and away, they have drawn more matches than won or lost. That is really what is holding them around the level which they are at right now, twelfth place, three points off ninth in the league, and just three points of seventeenth in the league. With things being really tight in the bottom half of the table, this is really what the importance about this match is. Easing some pressure to move away from the relegation zone in terms of points. While both of the Merseyside teams haven’t given their fans too much to cheer about, Everton are the better side, and seem to have more potential about them.

This is down to the great work by manager David Moyes, who really makes things work from nothing. They are always helped along by the crucial goals from Tim Cahill, who is their top scorer from midfield, but they will have to do without the Australian as he is away on international duty, and that will seriously limit their goal scoring opportunities. This is because Everton really do not pack a lot of punch up front in the forward department. They play good football, battle well, but the end product is seldom good enough, with Beckford, Yakubu (who has just gone to Leicester on loan) and Saha netting just four goals between them all season. However, to their credit, and what keeps Everton strong, is that they are usually a tough side to break down. That can be summed up with them losing just one of their last nine away matches, and at the end of the day, you know they are going to be ok in the Premier League. They have agreed to sell Steven Pienaar after settling on a transfer fee, but to where he is heading, is a mystery. The likelihood is either Spurs or Chelsea if he stays in the Premier League, but details aren’t being revealed. Pienaar should pull on the Everton shirt on Sunday, even though there is the pending transfer. Everton completely outplayed their Merseyside rivals at Goodison, and they should be able to use their staunch stubbornness on the road to get something out of this match too. However, for boss David Moyes, he hasn’t managed a win at Anfield in eight attempts now. They go without Phil Jagielka at the back, who is still out through injury. Their big home win over Spurs in their previous match, should have them stoked for this one.

Well, it is a trail by fire in front of the Kop for interim manager Kenny Dalglish at Anfield. After Roy Hodgson left his post by mutual consent, Liverpool legend Dalglish stepped into the fold to try and sprinkle a bit of magic on his club. It hasn’t happened yet, as he lost in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, and then saw his side lose away at Blackpool in the league. The fairy tale is still waiting to be written, but clearly the problem is in the quality of player at the club. This has been the main complaint for a couple of years now, and the club have suffered hard. Really, without the spark of Steven Gerrard in midfield, who is still serving a suspension for being sent off against Manchester United, Liverpool do not have a lot to offer. Fortunately, they will be rescued enough times this season by Fernando Torres to ensure that they are alright in the end, but they seriously need to find a way to actually get him the ball. He is still one of the best in the league, but has been starved of service from the poor quality which is playing behind him. So Kenny Dalglish does have a bit of a mountain to climb, but at least he can look back through the stats and see that Liverpool haven’t lost this fixture since the 1999/00 season at Anfield. The overall head to head between the two sides at Anfield, reads heavily in favour of Liverpool, as they have a 40% win percentage over Everton there, with the Toffees winning on just 25% of their visits. With Everton not winning there for so long, maybe they are due one? But in the overall head to head, Liverpool have won 82, Everton 66 and 64 draws have played out. A draw here probably is worth considering for your football betting, considering the standings of the two teams.

But Liverpool need something to get their season going, so has this match come at the right time? You do get the feeling that they will have to battle and really earn a victory against Everton, and that is one area of their game which they haven’t excelled at. They have been bullied and pushed around by teams playing with a little more bite to their game, and Liverpool have lost a lot of second ball challenges this year. That is four defeats in their last five Premier League matches now, six defeats in their last nine. It has been their home form though which has just done enough to keep their noses above water, winning five of the last six at Anfield. So there is potential for a home win here, but against Everton, it’s probably not going to be by too big a margin. Liverpool are worth a bet here, they are not as good as Everton, but they have generally been better at home, where they have lost just two matches all season. It has been their away form which has really let them down badly. So, can Kenny Dalglish inspire the Reds to a very important home win? Well, it will be a case of can their faltering midfield break down Everton’s defence really. That’s all it comes down to. Everton will likely struggle for goals themselves without Cahill’s influence, and at the end of the day, it may all just come down to one moment of individual brilliance from one Fernando Torres, who is often the thin line between success and failure for Liverpool (63 goals in 99 Liverpool matches – 45 in 50 at Anfield in the league) and has three goals in four league games against Everton.

Online Bookmaker Promotion: Has to be SportingBet for the top promotion on this one, as you need to look at the Red Card Refund.
