Where can I get prices of private planes?

I recently saw an ad in the classifieds in my local newspaper for a 1973 Cessna 172 only $5500. Was that too good to be true? It's not in there anymore so someone must have bought it. What websites can I get prices for a private plane, preferably a cheap Cessna? I'm taking lessons and I just want to see after I'm done with my private pilots license how much a plane would cost.

The cheapest a decent 4 seater would go for is $50k. You can get a decent 2 seater for under $30k. Anything less than that usually needs a great deal of work.
