Are there any over the counter places (ie walmart, safeway, walgreens)? Or do I need them specially made since its such a weak precription?

  1. I would recommend getting an actual prescription only because your eyes may not require the same amount of power in each eye. Once you find out your actualy prescription needed for reading glasses then you can decide if you need to custom make them or you can actually get over the counter non-prescription reading glasses.

    For example:

Your exam revealed a reading Rx of...

    OD (Right eye) = +0.50

    OS (left eye) = +1.50

An Over the counter +0.75 on both eyes would not help your problem.

But you can get non prescription reading glasses at most pharmacies or grocery stores.

  2. Most over the counter readers begin at +1.00...if you need less than that, you'll have to have them made....

  3. Try any pharmacies or grocery stores they arent over the counter just on a little rack in the store usually near the contacts stuff and the glasses cases....I think they're at the places you listed (i dont know what safety way is) and also at CVS, Rite Aid, Meijer, etc
