I have to drive over a 45 foot section of dune sand in Rhode Island to get to a summer cottage, and today due to softnes of sand, only 4-wheel drive vehicles can make it; I am looking for rubber or metal (erosion control?) mats/ramp that I can lay on top of sand to allow non-4 wheel drive vehicles to drive across without digging into sand and getting stuck? Prefer low cost option or used mats.... if you know a business, please provide Tel # or email page - thx

  1. Mirafi makes several products to consolidate the ground so that you can drive on it.  You would have to lay some sand over it to not damage the material.  It's very thin and not too expensive.  We used on drilling mud sumps where D7 cats would sink and once we put it on and covered they were stable enoght to drive almost anything over them.
