If you are in the UK your local council or school run pool should have lessons for about £15- £20 for a block of 8 half hour sessions, once a week. There will be up to 10 people in each class and be aware that some pools have a waiting list, especially if it is for adult lessons as there is a big demand. Some do a "crash course" during school hols where you can go each day for a week- not sure if they do that for adults.

Private lessons are more expensive but you can learn quicker.  Expect to pay around £6-£10 + entry cost for the pool for a half hour on your own with a qualified instructor, again, you would find out about this at your local council run pool.
