Where can I get the bits of rubber tubing for Woods valves?

  1. I've just checked two puncture repair kits (different brands) there was two in each. Most people would probably throw them away not knowing what they are. Ask around someone is bound to have a few they will give you.

    The rubber always used to break near the air holes. When it did you used to be able to trim a bit off and turn them 90 degrees and they were right to go again.

    If your not super keen on keeping it original; tubes with Schrader valves will fit. (They are a lot easier to come by).

    If your getting blank looks they are also known as Dunlop valve.

    RJR (Bob Jackson) Cycles in Leeds has been around since 1935. You could also try Mercian in Derby.

  3. Change the valve inserts  to modern ones without valve rubber, much easier to pump up and doesn,t perish, another trip to your local bike shop, and don,t forget your Sturmey Archer washers!!
