Question:

Where can I get the cheapest Betaine Hydrochloride capsules or coated tablets?

I am trying to find Betaine HCL caplets/capsules/coated tablets. I supplement with uncoated tablets currently, and it's fixed my acid reflux disease symptoms except for a milder heartburn. I'm concerned that's caused by the uncoated HCL tablets dissolving in my esophagus on the way to the stomach.

Does anyone know where I can get the best price on a coated tablet, capsule, or caplet, so the HCL is only released once it hits my stomach? 10 points to anyone that knows of a good place, right now I found a site where I can get 12500mg per dollar, shipping included.

I'm also open to any suggestions on how to coat uncoated tablets safely. Is there a substance that you can coat something in that won't be digested in the esophagus, but will be in the stomach?

Thanks!

  1. An un-coated tablet shouldn't dissolve enough before it hits your stomach to worry about. If you are getting a mild heartburn when you take it, you may not need the extra acid as too much HCl can cause heartburn.

That being said, the best price I can find on the internet is at http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SW350/Ite...

    Good luck!
