In a place where you would not want to buy from!

D40 is a very hot selling camera, and no legitimate retailer will discount it more than 5, maybe in extreme case 10% below average. So be very careful if somebody offers it for less. Most likely it's some sort of scam.

Then shop around on amazon.com, buy.com, tigerdirect.com or other reputable retailers. You can also google around, but keep in mind that if someody offers it to you for 5-10% less than b&h charges for the same kit - you may be in for unpleasant surprise after you order.

Beware of those small online camera shops that advertise really low prices. They will get your credit card information and then AFTERWARDS tell you it is on backorder for a lengthy time. And good luck canceling the order. I have heard nightmare stories.

At least Amazon is a reputable store and they ship fast.
