I hate to tell you this but the opening ceremony was last week. I'm sorry but you missed it, I hope no one was depending on you to be there to watch them in the parade of flags.

you can probably find them on the ground near the birds nest where people threw them down after the event was over

The best place to look would be the Beijing dump, right now. I'm sure heaps of people would have thrown out their tickets
